Meet the Doctors

Dr. R. Cary Bocklet   DMD, MS

Dr. Bocklet has an extensive technical background. He graduated from Clemson University in 1983 with a degree in ceramic engineering. After working as a process development engineer with Union Carbide for five years, he entered dental school. He received his DMD degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1992 and his masters in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the University of North Carolina in 1995.

Dr. Bocklet is passionate about orthodontics and serving his community. He stays current in orthodontic literature and constantly updates evidence-based technology in his office to ensure his patients are receiving the best orthodontic treatment. He also invests in his community, both locally and afar, by supporting local non-profits such as Water Mission International, partnering with local schools, and working with dental students on international missions. For Dr. Bocklet, orthodontics is more than providing a great smile; it’s about building relationships and giving patients and the community a reason to smile.

In his free time Dr. Bocklet enjoys spending time with his family - his wife Carey and his two sons Michael and Chris. Chris is in his 4th year of dental school at MUSC and is also planning to join the practice. Dr. Bocklet and his sons enjoy skiing, golfing, surfing, and soaking in all that the Lowcountry has to offer.

Dr. Mike Bocklet   DMD, MSD

Michael Bocklet, Dr. Mike, is the older son of Dr. Cary Bocklet. He grew up watching his dad transform smiles and change lives through orthodontic treatment. Working in the office during his college years, he realized that orthodontics was his passion. After graduating Clemson University, he went on to attend dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and later matched for orthodontics residency at MUSC. During his 3-year training in Orthodontics, he worked tirelessly to enhance his knowledge and develop his skillset so that he could deliver extraordinary results to the community he has called home all his life. His favorite part about orthodontics is building relationships with patients and their families through open communication and education. He understands that every orthodontic patient is unique and therefore works to truly customize treatment to fit their lifestyle and smile goals.

In his free time, Dr. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife Parker, his son Hudson, and his labradoodle Sully. Dr. Mike and his wife Parker are avid surfers and love spending time on the water together. They also love to travel internationally and have had the opportunity to serve on numerous mission trips together throughout their marriage.

“I feel so blessed to be able to work alongside my dad, doing what I love, and serving the community that helped me grow into the person I am today. I am passionate about orthodontics and serving people and cannot wait to share that passion with our patients!”
